When it comes to shooting food there is something about capturing dishes in natural light - sometimes straight from the oven - that often invites a warmth that makes you want to pull out a plate, fork, spoon or knife, etc. to take a nibble.
When I get the opportunity to shoot on location (at wonderful places like Ambrosia or Anna Shea Chocolates), I often try to take advantage of both studio lighting as well as daylight. These options - if available - provide some variety for clients, plus allows me to play with light in a few different ways...all to make the food sing.
